When y While

 Utilizamos When (Cuando) y While (Mientras) para indicar que una acción ocurre en el momento en que está ocurriendo otra acción. También utilizamos When para señalar que una acción ocurre debido a otra.


Ejemplo:


When the alarm clock rang, I was sleeping
Cuando el despertador sonó (empezó a sonar), yo estaba durmiendo


When the alarm clock rang, I woked up
Cuando el despertador sonó, me desperté


While I was going to school, I was talking to you
Mientras estaba yendo (iva) al colegio, estaba hablando contigo


While I was going to school, a car crashed into the tree
Mientras estaba yendo al colegio, un auto se estrelló (chocó) contra el árbol

Se utiliza coma antes del pronombre o sujeto pero no se utiliza coma antes de los adverbios.


Ejemplo:


When she was locking the house, her child went in it and left his cellphone
Her child went in it and let his cellphone when she was locking the house


When you closed the door, it maked a strange sound
It maked a strange sound when you closed the door


While Margaret was looking for keys, she remembered she had put them on the table
She remembered she had put the keys on the table while Margaret was looking for them


While she went to talk to your parents, you were at the mall
You were at the mall while she went to talk to your parents
